About
As an educational consultant, one of Kate’s greatest joys is helping her students explore their interests, aspirations, and future fields of study. Her enthusiasm for teaching and patient approach enable her to connect with students, ensuring they feel confident in themselves and their educational choices. As a specialist in Canadian admissions, she enjoys guiding her students and families through high school course selection, extra-curricular exploration, and university planning. While discussing post-secondary paths, Kate encourages all her students to reflect on their unique strengths, considering the many educational paths available.
In addition to working independently with students, Kate teaches video interview, executive functioning, and writing workshops throughout the year. As an avid reader, she is passionate about helping her students develop their critical thinking, reading, and writing skills.
Kate holds a BA in Creative Writing and English Literature from Concordia University; she later received Orton Gillingham certification through Fraser Academy. Having previously worked for several years as a writing coach at Options, she has extensive knowledge of university admissions and has assisted students with successful applications to schools in Canada, the US, and the UK. Kate believes that the university application process can be such a rewarding experience, and her primary goal is to ensure her students feel motivated, prepared, and ready to explore their next educational path.
