Find your next Workshop or Event

Is your school community interested in learning more about the post-secondary admissions process and how students and parents can prepare for the application process? Each school year, we partner with PAC’s and school administrators to host informative and interactive presentations in Lower Mainland area schools. We waive our speaker fee, and instead encourage schools to use the presentation as a fundraising opportunity.

Our president Melinda Giampietro recently enjoyed doing a presentation at Point Grey Secondary. Here’s their feedback:

“Point Grey Secondary School PAC had the pleasure of hosting Options Solutions at our meeting in October. Melinda Giampietro gave an informative talk to the parents about transfer to post-secondary schools in Canada. Parents walked away with a good idea of the next steps to take for their students regardless of their year in high school. The information Options provided to our families was invaluable, and we highly recommend their services.”

Canadian Admissions Simulation

Join us for an interactive journey through the Canadian university admissions experience. The session begins with an overview of the admission process, followed by an admissions simulation. Each group will be asked to “admit” one student to our mythical Options University. The groups will then join together and participate in a discussion of the admissions process based on their simulation experience. The dialogue will be lead by one of our expert educational consultants, and cover:

  • Course planning
  • Picking a faculty/major
  • Admission averages
  • The importance of extra-curricular activities
  • Value setting
  • Devaluing the myths of admission
  • Navigating the process with grace and good humour

Participants will leave the session with a clearer picture of how the admissions process works and how their personal decisions can maximize their chances of success.

Are you a school counsellor who is interested in who we are and what we do? We understand how important the role of a school counsellor is in helping students make important life choices. We would love the chance to meet and provide you with some information about our programs and services. We work with students and their families to support a broad range of educational decisions and would appreciate the opportunity to learn how we can best support your efforts and the school community. Each school year, we host a Counsellor Open House at all three of our office locations to connect with the school counsellors and fellow educators in our community. Please contact us for more information about these sessions.
