About

Kara Smith has worked as an advisor, consultant, and trainer to hundreds of students, parents, professionals, and corporations around the world throughout her 25-year career. She brings a strong conceptual and creative background to guide clients as a thinking partner on a high level, and as an implementer on an operational level.

Fundamentally, Kara loves to help people identify and optimise their potential from a place of strength and vision.

As a parent herself, Kara raised two American-Dutch children attending 11 different schools across the US, Canada, the UK, the Netherlands, and Qatar— making her highly versed in comparative curricula, teaching, and assessment styles, as well as the importance of helping young people navigate changing and challenging landscapes.

Professionally, Kara is a founder of MindWell Education and MindWell Canada, where she co-created two evidence-based personal development courses for students, athletes, and teachers. She has also worked as an educational consultant for the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs, the International Baccalaureate, the Mindfulness in Schools Project UK, and UBC.

Kara holds a BA cum laude from Middlebury College, a Masters of International Affairs with highest honours from The George Washington University, and various teaching and training certifications.
