National Portfolio Day is Almost Here!

on

Every year, the National Portfolio Day Association (NPDA) hosts free events, across Canada, the US, and Europe. This year, the NPDA is offering both in-person and online events, and this event is coming to Vancouver on November 5th, 2022. Students applying to undergraduate programs in art or design who will be required to submit portfolios are in luck because this is the perfect opportunity to get your portfolio reviewed!

What happens at National Portfolio Day events?

During the in-person events, students will have the chance to sit down with representatives from accredited colleges and universities to discuss their portfolios and receive feedback. During online events, students will log onto an online platform where they’ll have a chance to meet one-on-one with representatives from universities and colleges to receive feedback on their portfolio prior to submission. Often, these meetings last 10-15 minutes.

This year, there are over 95 different post-secondary institutions participating in NPDA events. Representatives will not only give you advice about your portfolio, but they will also answer any questions you have about areas of study, scholarships, and financial aid.

How do I prepare for National Portfolio Day events?

First, you’ll need to register for the event that you wish to attend. Then, it’s suggested that students prepare a range of their work, anywhere from 10 to 12 pieces. Not all works need to be finished as often schools will be interested to learn more about your process.

Where can I learn more about National Portfolio Day events?
