Global Engineering – McGill University, Montreal and CentraleSupélec, France
McGill University and CentraleSupélec in France are inaugurating a new engineering program with the first intake of students starting in September 2025.
Students in the new “Global Engineering” program will join an international cohort and complete the program’s first 2 years in France at CentraleSupélec taking a common curriculum drawing on the French school’s excellence in Mathematics and Science before entering McGill for the final two years, where they can choose from McGill’s nine engineering streams.
The program is taught entirely in English while being embedded within two unique French-speaking cultures. According to CentraleSupélec, the program “aims at tackling the challenges of the modern world: environmental, societal, and corporate challenges. The curriculum mixes the best of the two systems, develops scientific excellence and best practices for global engineering (in both the multicultural and multidisciplinary sense).”

Students will graduate with expertise in their chosen engineering discipline and a broader understanding of math, science, social, and environmental challenges on a global level. They will also have experiences within corporate organizations, aiming to tackle those challenges and be well-prepared for work in Canada and abroad.
Interested students submit applications to both schools, where, in addition to strong marks, they will include a personal statement outlining how the program fits into their larger career goals and participate in a video-based interview before admission.
