NSCAD Extended Studies – Portfolio Development Class: Online
Are you a high school student passionate about art and design? Do you dream of pursuing post-secondary studies in the creative fields? The NSCAD Extended Studies Portfolio Development Course is an incredible opportunity to strengthen your portfolio and prepare for the next steps in your artistic journey—all for free!
This online course is tailored for students who want to create a strong, cohesive portfolio for their post-secondary applications. Led by NSCAD University faculty members Anna Sprague and Louis-Charles Dionne, participants will receive expert guidance on everything from selecting and documenting their work to crafting a compelling letter of intent.
What You’ll Learn
Over four weeks, you’ll gain valuable insights into:
- How to document and select work for your portfolio
- The importance of a sketchbook in showcasing your creative process
- Writing an effective letter of intent for post-secondary applications
Each module includes presentations, demonstrations, and resources for additional learning. Students will also benefit from group Q&A sessions and individualized feedback to help them take their portfolios to the next level.

- Format: Online (a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access is required; webcam and microphone recommended)
- Dates: Sundays, March 23, 2025, to April 13, 2025
