Learning Buddies Network-Reading and Math Mentors: Vancouver
Learning Buddies Network is a non-profit organization that helps elementary school students develop literacy and math skills through free one-on-one, after-school mentoring. The Learning Buddies Network reaches children who otherwise would not have the help they need, enhancing students’ self-esteem through improvement in academic skills.
Volunteer mentor applications for the winter term are open now. Mentors must be in at least grade 10 or above and must be located in Canada or the Continental United States. Volunteers have the opportunity to work directly with students and develop a supportive mentoring relationship that will help foster their learning skills, self-esteem, and positive attitudes. Both online and in-person programs are available.

Mentors are responsible for participating in the orientation, preparing lesson materials for each session, tracking their little buddy’s progress, and attending mentor meetings. To learn more about the Learning Buddies mentoring position and start your application, check out the Learning Buddies Network’s website here.
