UBC Geering Up Engineering Outreach: UBC Vancouver, Richmond, South Surrey, North Vancouver, Coquitlam, or UBC Okanagan.
UBC Geering Up provides youth in British Columbia with the opportunity to investigate engineering, science, and technology in a fun, educational, and safe environment. Their summer camps, year-round clubs, and events are a mix of hands-on science projects, design challenges, and more.
Applications for the Junior Instructor Program will open in March. Volunteers are required to be in grade 9 or higher and reside in the British Columbia lower mainland for the duration of volunteering. All successful applicants must also complete a Criminal Record Check upon admission into the program.

Junior Instructors are high school or university students who help at the UBC Geering Up clubs and camps. Junior Instructors work closely alongside the instructor team to deliver and share STEM with youth in a hands-on and dynamic learning environment. This involves some curriculum development, assisting with lesson delivery, materials preparation, and teaching opportunities. To learn more about UBC Geering Up’s volunteering positions and start your application, check out their website here.
