Options Solutions consultants and coaches are committed to consistent, up-to-date, and engaging professional development. This past Wednesday, our team came together for a full day of hearing from experts and engaging in discussions and community-building activities.
Our guest speakers
Our first expert was Kelsey Murrin, MCP, RCC from the Anxiety Relief Center in Vancouver. She covered the signs and symptoms of anxiety. We worked through different student anxiety scenarios we see in our practice and the best ways to navigate these situations and help our students.
Our second expert was Dr. Antonio Ocana from the North Shore ADHD Clinic. We learned about the five symptoms of diagnosing ADHD: cognitive, executive, impulse control, hyperactivity, and reward management. Dr. Ocana deepened our understanding of ADHD and how it affects adolescents and their learning.
The goal of both presentations was to help us meet ALL of our students where they are and increase our understanding of the challenges some students face.
