University Admissions Decisions Are in!

Each year, we post a highlighted list of exceptional, competitive schools to which our clients were accepted and some of the significant scholarships they have won. This year is no exception; read on to learn about some of the universities and post-secondary institutions to which Options clients will soon be heading!

Many of our students were admitted to highly competitive business and engineering programs across Canada, including UBC, Queen’s, Western, U of T, and McGill, with admissions scholarships ranging from several thousand dollars to over $100 thousand. In the US, we have had students commit to play sports at schools such as Penn, Stanford, Bentley, Colgate, Western Michigan, and the University of Vermont. Many have full-ride athletic scholarships. Our clients, many of whom have received substantial academic scholarships, are also excited to begin their studies at the University of Southern California, NYU, University of Michigan, UC Berkeley, Dartmouth, Amherst, Georgetown, Middlebury, and many more schools.

In the UK, our clients have been admitted to veterinary programs at Royal Veterinary College and the universities of Glasgow and Edinburgh, as well as the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, and Masters of Physical Therapy programs at Robert Gordon, University of Bradford, and Keele University, among many others. Further afield, we have clients accepted to programs in Switzerland, Australia, and China. We have helped Fine Arts applicants develop their portfolios and personal statements, resulting in acceptances to the Rhode Island School of Design, UVic BFA, Cap U Graphic Design, OCADU, and many more, and fashion students who will begin their studies at Ryerson in Toronto and Parsons in New York. We have also helped students gain admission to US boarding schools, such as Lawrenceville, Exeter, Deerfield, and Loomis.

However, as we reflect over the past year, some of our biggest successes involve helping clients find the perfect post-secondary program, whether next door or clear across the country—like the Great Books program at Carleton, Community Design at Dalhousie, Animal Biology at USask, Creative Industries at Ryerson, the ASHA program at UCalgary, Child and Youth Care at UVic, and many others. We work with them to determine the size and location of their perfect university, resulting in some discovering StFX, Bishop’s, Acadia, and the University of New Brunswick as their ideal destinations.

In some cases, we begin meeting with students who are struggling with school in grade 9 or 10 and who have no idea what they want to do. After working with them over time, we are privileged to watch students become excited about academic programs or career paths. We work with students with learning disabilities or mental health concerns, helping them identify and then get accepted to programs that suit their particular learning needs. Some students have worked under our guidance from grades 10 to 12 and have boosted their academic averages in amazing ways—sometimes by as much as 15-20%! In grade 12, they find that their range of options has expanded exponentially. Sharing in the triumph of these successes motivates us every day.

We also help post-secondary students transfer from colleges to university programs (which sometimes takes the most intricate planning) or transfer after the first year to a university that suits them better. We also encounter many older students who started to work right out of high school, who seek guidance and support in finding programs of interest. And we work with university graduates who are applying for graduate and professional schools, including one student who received a $16,000 (euro) scholarship to the HEC Paris MBA.

We’re proud of our students

Throughout the year, whether our clients hope to play varsity sports, gain admittance to highly competitive programs, need help determining their interests, or need to develop the executive functioning skills to navigate the admissions process, we are proud to support them and cheer them on. No matter where they end up, our goal is to help all our clients enjoy excellent academic experiences, and it is hard to overstate our pride in their accomplishments. Bravo!
