Changes to SAT Format Coming in 2016

on

Current Grade 9 students who plan to apply to US universities will be the first class to experience the changes to the SAT exam the College Board will implement in 2016.

The most significant changes include a shift from the current 2400-point scoring scale back to the former 1600-point scoring scale, elimination of the 1/4 point deduction for an incorrect answer, and a shift from a required essay component to an optional essay component. The content of the SAT exam also will receive an overhaul, with a focus on test-material with more practical, real-world applications and a more analytical approach to test questions.

Students who are currently preparing for the SAT or ACT official exams in May and June can still join our SAT/ACT 2014 prep cycle with options to complete mock exams, attend weekly prep sessions or attend weekend prep sessions.
