This summer, Carter, Dean and I traveled to Kenya with Free the Children.  While there, we visited Kisaruni All Girls Secondary School.  As a lifelong educator and supporter of all adolescents following their dreams, these girls (shown above) left a lasting impression on me.  I am honoured to hold this trunk show in honor of the girls at Kisaruni who are not only changing their communities, but also their nation and their continent.

They are trailblazers.

On behalf of Options Solutions Educational Consultants and the Giampietro Family, we are thrilled to invite you to an evening of conversation with Robin Wiszowaty, bestselling author and Free The Children’s Country Director for Kenya and Ghana. We will discover how Me to We Artisan Mama Helen has experienced empowerment and financial independence, as she builds a better future for her family. And we will have the chance to connect with Kisaruni and Oleleshwa All Girl’s Secondary School students about how new educational and leadership opportunities are transforming their lives.

Free The Children is an international charity and educational partner that works to educate, engage and empower youth to become active local and global citizens which is kicked off each year through We Day across the country. Through their holistic and sustainable development model—Adopt a Village— they work to remove barriers to education and to empower communities to break the cycle of poverty.

During the evening there will be a marketplace of Me to We Artisans where you can support the Mamas as well as Free The Children communities in a style that’s truly beautiful – inside and out. At the heart of Me to We Artisans is a simple belief: that beautiful things should be made in a way that honours and sustains the artisans themselves.
