We have updated our September program schedule to include further options for students who still are facing a delay to the start of the school year. We encourage students who want to make the most of their time to explore the options below and determine which programs would best suit their needs.
SAT/ACT Prep Sessions
Math – Thursday, September 18th, 8:30 – 11:30 AM (WV office)
English: Reading & Essay – Friday, September 19th, 8:30 – 11:30 AM (WV office)
Math 11 Boot Camp
A one-week course introducing the concepts of Pre-Calculus Math 11 for students entering grade 11 math (this course is preparatory and not for credit). The course is a conceptual overview of the full year’s curriculum, and will introduce the main concepts. It is a discussion based format and materials are provided.
Dates: Mon, Sept 15th – Fri, Sept 19th; 12:00 – 3:00 PM daily (WV office)
Foundational English Skills: Grade 8-10
Sessions are designed to give new and current high school students a solid understanding of English grammar and writing conventions. Sessions will provide students with the knowledge and tools to enhance their communication abilities and to set the foundation for English 8, 9, and 10. Sessions will teach students the English basics in an accessible and interactive manner and give them the skills to write with confidence.
Dates: Mon, Sept 15th & Tues, Sept 16th; 12:00 – 3:00 PM daily (SG office)

Study Skills Sessions
These intensive study skills sessions are designed to help students be academically prepared for their educational futures. Students will leave the workshop armed with the knowledge, skills, strategies, and reference material required to prepare them for academic success.
Dates: Grade 8 & 9 – Sat, Sept 20th; 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM (SG office)
Grade 10-12 – Sat, Sept 20th; 1:30 – 4:30 PM (SG office)
Writing Workshop
These sessions aim to help students complete the supplemental writing portions of their university and scholarship applications, including essays, personal statements, activities summaries and resumes. Writing Workshop serves as an accessible introduction to university level writing, and students will leave the sessions with an understanding of effective written language use.
