FIFA26 CAN Future Leaders Internship Program: Toronto, ON

For post-secondary students seeking hands-on experience in a global, high-profile setting, the FIFA26 CAN Future Leaders Internship Program presents a rare and exciting opportunity. As preparations ramp up for the FIFA World Cup 2026—set to be the first-ever 48-team tournament hosted across Canada, Mexico, and the United States—FIFA is inviting students and recent graduates to be part of the team delivering one of the most ambitious sporting events in history.

About the Program

The Future Leaders Internship Program is a paid, full-time opportunity designed specifically for undergraduate and graduate students who are either in the final one or two years of their academic program or have graduated within the past year. This 12-week program, running from September to December 2025, offers participants the chance to work directly with FIFA26 teams at the Toronto office, contributing to impactful projects and gaining valuable professional experience.

What Interns Can Expect

Interns have the opportunity to learn about key areas such as:

  • Safety, Security & Emergency Readiness
  • Government & Community Engagement 
  • Football Operations
    • Ex. Competition & Team Services
  • Venue & Stadium Services/ Management
    • Ex. Fan Operations, Media Services, Signage & Wayfinding
  • Tournament Operations
    • Ex. Transportation, Accommodation, and Volunteer Management
  • Commercial & Public Relations

Each intern is assigned meaningful projects with mentorship from experienced professionals, along with training workshops and networking opportunities. The program is designed to build workplace readiness and foster leadership, innovation, and strategic thinking.

Eligibility Requirements

This program is open only to post-secondary students who meet the following criteria:

  • Entering the final one or two years of a 2025/2026 academic program or recently graduated from an accredited undergraduate or graduate program (within 12 months)
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Able to work full-time, onsite in Toronto
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
  • A keen interest in gaining professional experience in event management, sports, business operations, or a related field

No prior work experience is required—just a willingness to learn, grow, and contribute.

How to Apply

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and may close early due to high volume. The application deadline is May 9th, 2025, but interested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Successful candidates will be contacted by the end of June.
