Regional Animal Protection Society: Richmond, BC

The Regional Animal Protection Society (RAPS) offers an incredible opportunity for students to make a tangible difference in the lives of animals while gaining hands-on experience in animal care, retail, and community engagement.

RAPS is a registered charity with a proud commitment to being a no-kill organization, which has earned them a devoted community of animal lovers. Their operations include the RAPS Cat Sanctuary, Adoption Centre, thrift stores, fostering network, and a full-service nonprofit Animal Hospital.

Why Volunteer with RAPS?

Volunteering with RAPS isn’t just about helping animals—it’s about being part of a compassionate community that values kindness and care. Whether you’re cleaning at the Cat Sanctuary, assisting customers at a thrift store, or spreading awareness at events, your efforts will directly improve the lives of animals and contribute to a healthier, happier world for all. Plus, you’ll gain valuable skills, meet like-minded peers, and make a difference in your community.

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Youth aged 12–15 must volunteer with a parent/guardian.
  • Youth between 16-18 must have a parent/guardian (19+) sign the volunteer agreement form to give consent.
  • Criminal record checks are mandatory.
  • A six-month minimum commitment is required.
