Looking for a way to get involved with your future university or college? This month we’re bringing you events happening at home and abroad at different post-secondary institutions, so our students can try something new, show off their skills, and add to their growing extra-curricular profiles. Check out the post-secondary events happening this month below!

January 16th

Northeastern University London Year 12 Essay Competition – Virtual – 1 pm GMT

“Northeastern University London is inviting competition essay entries from students who are currently in their penultimate (second to last) year of secondary education.
Our selection of essay titles engages across a broad range of humanities and social sciences topics, and we look forward to receiving entries from talented and intellectually curious students who show passion and academic potential in the humanities and social sciences. We welcome entries from students located anywhere in the world.”

January 19th

Exclusive Shad Alumni Event: Pitch Masterclass with Volition – Virtual – 1:30 pm PST

“Calling all Shad alumni — Shad is offering an exclusive online Pitch Masterclass with Volition, on January 19 at 1:30 p.m. PST. This one-hour bootcamp is designed to teach entrepreneurs how to build and deliver an investor pitch that is clear, concise, and compelling. Want more details? or to RSVP? Canadian Universities Event – Virtual – 6 pm PST

“Our virtual event will feature representatives from participating universities. You can chat and ask questions, gather information, and stay connected! Prepare for the virtual event by exploring university profiles!”

January 31st

AUArts ShowOff! High School Student Art & Design Competition – Virtual

“Alberta University of the Arts has officially launched its annual ShowOff! art competition for high school students in Grade 10, 11 and 12. Students across Canada have the chance to win exciting prizes including university entrance award scholarships and grants to directly support their high school art programs.
ShowOff! invites eligible students registered at a recognized Canadian high school to develop individual art pieces using whichever medium they prefer to be judged by a jury panel. Successful applicants have the chance to win more than $20,000 in prizes, including the Grand Prize, “Best in Show” – an AUArts scholarship worth $5,000. To enter, submit up to three images of your original artwork, together with a description of what each piece means to you and a brief letter of recommendation from your favourite teacher to SlideRoom before January 31, 2023.”

You’ll stay in residence, explore state-of-the-art facilities, uncover hidden gems on campus and experience U of A student life first-hand. We’ll also show you around our beautiful city! Grade 11 students across Canada are welcome to apply by January 31st. 20 applicants will be selected and contacted in the spring.”
