Due to the upcoming changes to the BC curriculum for the 2018-19 school year, our office has contacted admission personnel at several Canadian post-secondary schools to confirm how the schools will evaluate the new BC curriculum for admission requirements so we can accurately advise our students.
Every school year, we work with parents, PAC members, school administrators, and community organizations to bring free information sessions to families across the Lower Mainland. We would welcome the opportunity to host a free event for your school’s parents and students that will highlight some of the changes Canadian post-secondary schools are making in response to the new curriculum. This event could be used as a school fundraiser or offered as a free information session. Students face an overwhelming number of decisions that will affect their educational futures, and the goal of our presentation is to provide parents and students with the information they need to navigate the post-secondary process with grace and good humor. In the fall, we offer the following session:
What Matters and Why in Post-Secondary Admissions: An Interactive Workshop
Join us for an upbeat journey through the Canadian post-secondary admissions process. The evening begins with an overview of the admissions trends. The dialogue will include: picking a faculty/major, course planning, admission averages, the importance of extra-curricular activities, and devaluing the myths of admissions. Participants will leave the session with a clearer picture of how the admissions process works and how their personal decisions can maximize their chances of success.
