Here is what’s happening at Options Solutions this week:
Monday, August 15th – Friday, August 19th (West Vancouver)
Effective writing matters! But we understand that writing is a process, and often a scary one for teenagers. We believe effective writing is possible through coaching, modeling, and lots of practice. Our week-long High School Essay Writing Boot Camp will engage students through a variety of exercises, and students will leave the session with a solid foundation to begin the school year.
Monday, August 15th – Friday, August 19th (West Vancouver)
Summer is the best time for students to get a jump start on their curriculum for the coming school year. Students taking Math 12 can get an overview of the year ahead at our Pre-Calculus 12 Boot Camp, which will review and explain all the necessary learning outcomes and content areas prescribed by the Ministry.
Tuesday, August 16th (South Surrey)
High schools do a good job of micro-managing students’ curriculum knowledge and assessing it in small chunks. At university, the first assessment or mid-term usually covers four to five chapters of material, with no prior check for understanding. Our University Send-Off Course will explore this change in learning style, as well as many of the other issues that confront students in their first six weeks on campus. The session is an open and frank dialogue about what to expect and what tools students need to be successful.

The Canadian admissions process can be confusing and overwhelming and many students aren’t sure where to begin. Our Canadian Admissions Boot Camp will give students a through introduction to the application process and students will leave the session with a solid foundation and plan for the application cycle.
