Here is what’s happening at Options Solutions this week:
Saturday, April 9th (South Granville & South Surrey)
Register for English Essentials, a series of workshops designed to demystify the writing process, clarify the fundamental concepts of effective writing, and tackle the most prevalent writing issues. Each of the five interactive sessions – which run from February to June – will be devoted to a particular topic. We started the series in February with Punctuation 101, and followed up in March with a session on Tricky Language. This month, we’re focusing on mastering Essay Basics. This session will teach students how to critically read an essay prompt, brainstorm effectively, and create an outline that works, i.e. makes the writing process easier and simpler. The South Granville session will run from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM and the South Surrey session will run from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM as well.
Saturday, April 9th (South Surrey)
The English 12 Provincial Exam is worth 40% of students’ final English 12 mark. Starting prep early and consistently reviewing and reinforcing the exam content is the key to mastering the exam’s format. To encourage students to begin learning their literary terms early, we are offering an English 12 Kickstart Study Session, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, which will introduce students to exam content and format, literary terms, and strategies to tackle the essays and multiple-choice questions.
