Here is what’s happening at Options Solutions this week:

Our Core Test Skills Prep classes allow students to prepare for the ACT and/or SAT exam(s) while also building essential academic skills. Students develop their abilities as active readers, learn fundamental grammar, and increase their understanding of essay structure and math concepts. On-going classes prepare students for the ACT and/or SAT by teaching test structure and test-taking strategy. At the same time, students learn skills that translate into success at school in reading, writing and math.
Saturday, February 17th (South Granville)
The Mastering the Essay series, scheduled monthly for February, April, and May, is designed to give current high school students a solid understanding of English grammar and writing conventions, so they can approach their essay writing with knowledge and skill. Essay Success: Mechanics will cover important grammar concepts, including punctuation, misplaced and dangling modifiers, pronoun usage, and commonly confused words, allowing students to write more clearly and expressively. Through interactive games and exercises, students will learn handy rules that will enhance their essay writing and impress their teachers.
Monday, February 19th (West Vancouver)
Our Course Planning 101 Workshop is designed to help grade 10 and 11 students and their parents prepare for 2018-2019 course planning, and will cover many topics important to course selection including: the BC Ministry requirements for graduation, usable vs. non-usable courses for post-secondary admissions, and how to keep doors open if you’re not sure what you want to study.
