Meet the guests
Candy Hui
Candy Hui is the Senior Associate Registrar of Undergraduate Recruitment at McMaster University. Originally from Hong Kong, she immigrated to Canada with her family, settling in a small town in Saskatchewan. When the time came for university, Candy decided to pursue her undergrad at McMaster. She is a proud two-time alum, first with a degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Math and Stats; followed by an MBA through the DeGroote School of Business, specializing in marketing and strategic management.
Candy has worked in the higher education sector for two decades. She has spent many years focusing on domestic undergraduate recruitment. Two and a half years ago, she stepped into her current role and now manages a team of 25 amazingly talented staff who loves McMaster through and through. When Candy is not busy writing a report or a strategy document, she is busy traveling with her two little boys and her husband.
Linea Dacosta
Linea Dacosta is an experienced university admissions professional passionate about helping students find the right educational path. Having grown up in the Middle East, studying the IGCSE curriculum before she moved to Ontario to attend boarding school, Linea sometimes felt like an “honorary international student” with her family living across the world. Linea attended Huron and graduated with an Honours Specialization in Global Gender Studies. She also holds a diploma in Public Relations and a certificate in Digital Marketing.
As the Director of Recruitment at Huron University, Linea specializes in helping students realize their academic potential and guiding them through the admissions process. When she’s not helping students, she is most likely at a Taylor Swift concert or baking.
