One Day Canadian Admissions Writing Workshop introduces students to writing components for Canadian applications. The session will include a presentation that outlines the typical essay and supplemental writing prompts required by major Canadian universities and programs. Students will then be given time to brainstorm and begin writing their application essays. Options Solutions writing coaches will give students one-on-one feedback on their drafts, and all students will leave with a clear direction on how to tackle and complete their application essays. Students who attend this session write fewer supplement drafts and spend less time working on their supplements overall.

Register your student for a Canadian Application Workshop! The application process can be complicated and confusing. These sessions are designed for students who want assistance completing their Canadian university and college applications in a constructive and supportive environment. Educational consultants Melinda Giampietro, Edwin Liew, Amanda Halliday, Monika Gay, and Michelle Robertson will lead students through completing the application process step-by-step and answer any questions that arise along the way. Students should bring a finalized list of universities/colleges and programs to the workshop.

Does your student need to complete a personal profile or writing supplement to submit with an application?
Our supplement Writing Workshops aim to help students complete the supplemental writing portions of their university and scholarship applications, including essays, personal statements, activities summaries and resumes. We recognize that writing is a process, so we follow your lead. Some students come in empty handed and leave directed and motivated to begin. Others come several drafts in and are looking for help refining their work. Our consultants and writing coaches help brainstorm appropriate topics, help plan an outline for an essay, and help draft documents to get the ball rolling. We also assist with editing to ensure students stay on topic and answer their essay prompts concisely and effectively, focusing on content, style and accuracy. We specialize in turning drafts into polished pieces.

Is your student applying to the commerce program at UBC, SFU, the University of Toronto, McMaster or York University, or the engineering program at the University of Toronto or Waterloo?
Video Interview Workshop prepares students for the video interview components of university applications required by the above programs. During the session, students will learn how to answer typical interview questions and have the opportunity to tackle some sample questions as a group. They will then practice in pairs and give each other feedback, as well as record their responses for analysis.

Want your student to start the school year with good habits?
Our Back-to-School Study Skills workshop is designed to help students be academically prepared for their educational futures. The sessions are instructional as well as practical, hands-on work sessions, and they are offered at the start of the school term to help students get a start on forming solid study habits. Students will leave the workshop armed with the knowledge, skills, strategies, and reference material required to prepare them for academic success. They will also leave the workshop with a concrete study plan for one of their courses that can be used as a model to structure their study habits.
