Tell us a bit about your background.
I am a formally trained, certified teacher who has taught at all levels of education, in both domestic and international contexts. At Brock University, I earned a Master of English Language & Literature and a Master of Education. I am currently completing a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Studies. Beyond the classroom, I am a writer, editor, speaker, and emerging scholar.
What makes you most excited about working at Options?
My favourite part about being an educator is also what drives my excitement at Options: cultivating meaningful, trustworthy connections with students during one of the most transformative periods of their lives.
Who is your role model?
My role models are my parents, whose work ethic and unconditional love continue to shape my practices and identity. I don’t thank them nearly enough for their sacrifices and for exemplifying, every day, the definition of strength.
What do you spend too much time doing?
Playing tennis!
If you could create a new university course, what would the subject be?
An interdisciplinary course in which students would both study and create media adaptations.
If you could have any super power, what would it be and why?
The ability to teleport or fly. Either would be more economical than airfare!
Tell us a fun fact about yourself!
I have a photographic (eidetic) memory.
