Application season is here! We are offering a number of programs to help students with their applications, writing supplements, and other additional application components, such as video interviews. To see our full list of programs, please read on:
One Day Canadian Admissions Writing Workshop (September – October; all offices)
This session introduces students to writing components for Canadian applications. Students will then be given time to brainstorm and begin writing their application essays.
Writing Workshop (October – January; all offices)
These sessions aim to help students complete the supplemental writing portions of their university and scholarship applications, including essays, personal statements, activities summaries and resumes. These sessions serve as an accessible introduction to university level writing, and students will leave the sessions with an understanding of effective written language use.
Canadian Application Workshop (October – January; all offices)
These sessions are designed for students who want assistance completing their Canadian university and college applications in a constructive and supportive environment. Our consultants will lead students through completing the application process step-by-step and answer any questions that arise along the way.
Video Interview Workshop (September – January; West Vancouver & South Granville)
This session prepares students for the video interview components of university applications, such as those required by the commerce programs at UBC, the University of Toronto, and York University, as well as the engineering program at the University of Toronto. The session will include a presentation that outlines the main components of video interview requirements, as well as a practical guide for successfully completing those videos.
Write Well Workshop (September – November; February – May; all offices)
This three-part series is designed to give current high school students a solid understanding of English grammar and writing conventions. The sessions will provide students with the knowledge and tools to enhance their communication abilities and to set the foundation for their current and upcoming English classes.
Back-to-School Study Skills Workshop (September – October; January – February; all offices)
This intensive study skills session is designed to help students be academically prepared for their educational futures. Students will leave the workshop armed with the knowledge, skills, strategies, and reference material required to prepare them for academic success.
ACT Prep: Full-Length Mock Exam + Debrief Sessions (October – May; West Vancouver)
This prep option includes a 4-hour exam, exam marking (including customized essay marking), and a 3-hour debrief. Each student is given a cover sheet to help them understand their successes and their areas needing improvement.
Provincial Exam Prep: English 12 – Mock Exam + Debrief Sessions & Study Sessions (December – June; all offices)
Options Solutions wants to help students get prepared for the English 12 Provincial Exam. These sessions cover all the skills you will need for successful studying and exam writing.
