Broad-based admission: what is it?
Since things will likely look a bit different this fall, it’s more important than ever to have a clear understanding of what Canadian admissions committees are looking for. Ever heard of ‘broad-based admissions’? UBC and other universities across Canada moved to broad-based admissions a few years ago. Universities are interested in more than just marks these days; they want a holistic understanding of who you are. For example, what are your hobbies? What are your dreams for the future? What will you bring to their community?
