Ivey High School Virtual Case Competitions

on

Each year, the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario offers high school students across Canada the chance to participate in business case competitions. This year, all high school case competitions will be hosted virtually, giving students the ability to participate safely.

The case method of learning, which Ivey uses for teaching, presents real-life situations and introduces real-world problems that students must work together to solve. This process requires lots of student participation and discussion as there are no clear cut answers.

These competitions provide students with a chance to learn about the business world in a very hands-on way. Moreover, they serve as a great way to add a business-related extracurricular to your resume, during a time when it can be tricky to find opportunities.

The high school cases competitions are geared towards students currently in grade 11; however, no prior business knowledge or education is needed. If you’re not currently in grade 11, keep an eye out on the Ivey High School Case Competition website; a week before the session date they’ll confirm if there are any spots left for students in other grades.

The registration deadline for students in BC is February 26th, 2021 at 4 pm EST and the case competitions will take place on March 6th, 2021. Check out Ivey’s website for the most up to date information and to learn more about this exciting opportunity.
