Forbes: What High School Juniors Should Do Now For College

“It’s normal, [for juniors to feel] a combination of excitement and anxiety. As a parent, you need to walk the fine line between being supportive and being a pest about college. It’s still early in the process (we’re in early April as I write), and you should see a 90/10% split in schoolwork/college planning at this point; in summer that should change to 75/25% activities/work and college planning. The proportion senior year should go up again to about 85/15%. The idea is not to let the college process take away from the activity that will make college possible.”
