Bachelor of Engineering in Water Resource Engineering (University of Guelph, Guelph)
Are you interested in developing environmentally sustainable and economically viable solutions to the country’s need for clean water? If so, consider studying Water Resources Engineering (WRE) at U Guelph.
WRE students engage in a direct entry, interdisciplinary degree, which combines aspects of civil and environmental engineering, as well as agriculture, planning and geography to focus on the use and management of land and water resources.
Development of new water systems can be problematic for existing groundwater, soil, wetlands, streams, and lakes. WRE students learn to develop creative solutions that enable the maintenance and protection of natural processes and preservation of access to high-quality water.
During this five-year degree program, students will gain valuable experience through an optional, but very valuable, co-op. If students choose the co-op program, they will participate in five work terms, all of which are intended to transition students from the world of academia to professional careers in the field. In the process, students will improve their job search skills, work performance, and networking abilities, as well as boost their resumes!
