We have so many stellar Options alumni, and in our new series, we wanted to shine a light on a few of our past clients who have gone on to do great things both near and far. This month, we chatted with Gabrielle about what she’s been up to since she graduated and her advice for current post-secondary students.

What’s Your Name?
Gabrielle Bartlett.
Where and what did you study?
UVIC – Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and UVIC – Master’s of Global Business (MGB).
How did you choose this institution and program?
My mom was a social worker and is my absolute hero, so I wanted to do exactly what she did! Options Solutions helped me find a local university with an excellent BSW program, which is how I got started at UVIC. Once I finished the BSW program and did a few practicums, I realized being a social worker wasn’t for me. After that, I moved on to business, hoping I could find a career where I had the opportunity to combine both skill sets.

What would you tell current post-secondary students about finding a path?
If you can, take advantage of any co-ops, internships, practicums, etc. that are available to you! This is an opportunity to start figuring out what you like and don’t like early on.
What are you doing now?
I am an Educational Consultant at Options Solutions. Best job EVER!

What at Options Solutions helped you the most?
Options helped me feel confident every step of the way. They guided me through course selection in high school, ensuring I had the correct courses for the program I was interested in. They supported me through the university research and application process, ensuring I selected universities/programs that were a great fit for me. I honestly don’t remember feeling a single ounce of stress during that time.

A fun fact about you?
I lived in Seoul, South Korea for four months while completing my Master’s of Global Business.
