The College Board is committed to making the SAT test accessible to all students through their SAT Accommodations policies.
If a student has a documented disability, they may be eligible for accommodations during test-taking sessions. Follow the steps below to receive accommodations:
1) Apply to the College Board’s Services for Students with Disabilities. Most students do this with the help of their school, although students can apply independently.
2) Apply early! The application process can take up to seven weeks to complete, so the College Board suggests submitting your request in the spring before your first planned exam date. If your accommodations are not approved at least two weeks in advance of the test date, they will not be in effect until the following registered test date.
3) Register for the SAT test with your accommodations. All students who are approved for accommodations receive an Eligibility Letter with a SSD Eligibility Code. If your accommodations have not been approved before you register for the SAT, you can call 609-771-7137 after the approval to verify your registration has been updated.
