Here is what’s happening at Options Solutions this week:

Friday, October 19th (West Vancouver)

Our Supplement Writing Workshop aims to help students complete the supplemental writing portions of their university and scholarship applications, including essays, personal statements, activities summaries and resumes. Writing Workshop serves as an accessible introduction to university level writing, and students will leave the sessions with an understanding of effective written language use. We accommodate students working on a variety of projects all in the same session, and our writing coaches work personally with students on their unique pieces.

The application process can be complicated and confusing. Our Canadian Application Workshop is designed for students who want assistance completing their Canadian university and college applications in a constructive and supportive environment. Educational consultants will lead students through completing the application process step-by-step and answer any questions that arise along the way.

Saturday, October 20th (West Vancouver)

The Video Interview Workshop prepares students for the video interview components of university applications, such as those required by the commerce programs at UBC, the University of Toronto, and York University, as well as the engineering programs at the University of Toronto and Waterloo. The session will include a presentation that outlines the main components of video interview requirements, as well as a practical guide for successfully completing those videos. During the session, students will learn how to answer typical interview questions and have the opportunity to tackle some sample questions as a group. They will then practice in pairs and give each other feedback, as well as record their responses for analysis.
