Winter Break Workshops You Won’t Want to Miss!


With winter break approaching, now is the time to start thinking about how to spend it productively. Whether you’d like to get a jump on your supplement essay writing, practice for your video interview skills, prepare for your ACT, SAT, or Graduation Literacy Assessment 10, or work on strengthening your essay writing over the break, Options has a virtual workshop for you. 

Supplement Essay Writing

These workshops aim to help students complete the supplemental writing portions of their university and scholarship applications, including essays, personal statements, activities summaries and resumes.

Video Interview

This session prepares students for the video interview components of university applications. Commerce at UBC, the University of Toronto, and York University, as well as engineering at the University of Toronto, McMaster, and Waterloo all require a video interview.

Core Test Skills

These intensive sessions focus on helping students master the ACT or SAT exam. Topics will cover every portion of the test, including test-taking strategies, time management tips, and crossover skills for the ACT/SAT exam.

Graduation Literacy Assessment Prep

This prep series gives grade 10 students a solid understanding of active reading, writing conventions, and essay fundamentals so they can successfully approach the Graduation Literacy Assessment. Students will have opportunities to practice and receive feedback.

Mastering the Essay

This interactive, fast-paced workshop is aimed at providing students with the theory and practice to succeed in their English studies at the grade 10 to 12 level. It will give students the skills and confidence they need to succeed, making their future English courses easier and more enjoyable.
