Bachelor of Science – Major in Biomedical Toxicology – University of Guelph (Guelph, Ontario)

Keeping the food and drug supply safe while protecting animal life and the environment are just some of the components of this interdisciplinary science major. Students learn to improve health and welfare by learning about pharmacology, environmental poisons, industrial chemicals and their impact on living beings. Sub-disciplines within the major include biomedical physiology, environmental chemistry, pathology, and nutrition, and the program culminates in a toxicology research project.

This program offers a co-op option that includes 4 work terms with hands-on experience in the field, extending the completion time of the degree to 5 years. Graduates work in industries from medicine and pharmacology to government regulatory bodies, food and product safety, and public health.
