The Bachelor of Data Science program at Carleton combines a strong foundation in data wrangling, inferential statistics, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI), with a focus on big data and data ethics. Students will learn how to design data collection and storage systems, write efficient code to manage large datasets, use advanced statistical techniques, and apply AI and machine learning to analyze and interpret data. With an emphasis on ethical data use, students will be trained to present their findings in responsible, reproducible, and actionable ways.
The program offers two main concentrations: Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Statistics. The AI concentration dives deeper into computer science theory and AI technologies, while the Statistics concentration offers an in-depth exploration of inferential statistics and the theoretical foundations of data analysis.
