Theatre Under the Stars↗ – Vancouver, British Columbia

Theatre Under the Stars Musical Society (TUTS) is not for profit society with a mandate to entertain families through popular musical theatre shows, while providing a vibrant outlet and training ground to develop amateur performers and technicians both young and old. TUTS achieves this through a unique collaboration between professionals and volunteers working together in administration, performance, production, and venue operations. TUTS values an atmosphere of inclusion and mentorship in order to build strong character and to promote positive values. Presented at Malkin Bowl in Stanley Park, Vancouverites have long considered TUTS a summer cultural tradition with average attendance of approximately 40,000 patrons per year.

The Production Team is focused on providing valuable and fun experiences. These positions are excellent opportunities to generate professional contacts in Vancouver’s theatre industry, expand one’s technical knowledge and experience, and enjoy a wonderful summer of fun!

Wardrobe Crew Dresser↗

Theatre Under the Stars is looking for enthusiastic and committed volunteers to be Wardrobe Crew Dressers for our upcoming 2024 season. Working under the direction of a professional Costume Designer throughout the tech process and under a professional Head of Wardrobe, a Wardrobe Crew Dresser will be assigned to the full run of one of the two productions. They will be required to be in attendance for each performance of the assigned show as well as all tech rehearsals. This position is an excellent opportunity to generate professional contacts in Vancouver’s theatre industry, expand one’s technical knowledge and experience, and enjoy a wonderful summer of fun under the stars in beautiful Stanley Park. No experience is necessary, however basic sewing skills are an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Pre-setting costumes for the start of the show
  • Inventorying and returning costumes
  • Laundering costumes
  • Light costume repairs
  • Assisting with quick changes and movement of costumes

 Qualifications:

  • Must be available evenings and weekends for tech period – June 16th to July 4th, 2024
    • Exact schedule and dates vary with show
  • Must be available for performances July 5th to Aug 24th, 2024
    • Shows run every second night
  • Strong interpersonal communication an asset.
