Greater Vancouver Food Bank: Vancouver

The Greater Vancouver Food Bank (GVFB) provides healthy food to around 14,000 individuals and families in need, and 118 Community Agency Partners across Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, and the North Shore each month. Their mission is to provide healthy food to those in need.

Volunteer applications for the GVFB will open next week on January 30th and remain open until February 21st. In general, volunteers are required to be at least 15 years of age and a resident of British Columbia, and volunteers must attend an orientation before they begin their shifts.

High school volunteers aged 15 and older can help with tasks like sorting and packing donations, quality checking, building orders, restocking goods, and cleaning. High school volunteers aged 18 and older can assist with front-line food distribution and support agency distribution to the GVFB’s partners.
