Options Solutions president Melinda Giampietro will walk students through the process of course selection. \nThe workshop will cover… \n\nAn overview of the trends in post-secondary education.\nBC Ministry requirements for graduation.\nThe requirements for various academic majors (Engineering\, Science\,\nKinesiology\, Business\, Arts\, etc).\nUsable admission courses versus non-usable admission courses.\nHow requirements vary by province.\nHow to keep as many doors open as possible and what to do if you don’t know what you want to study.\nThe myths of course planning (ex. Do I need French 12 or Calculus 12?).\nSetting up a foundation for academic success at university\, not just “getting in”.\nHow is course selection different if I am interested in attending an institution in the US or the UK?\nShould I take AP\, IB\, or honours courses? Should I do French Immersion?\n\nThe session will be interactive and dynamic. There will be a course simulation as well as a thorough question and answer\nperiod. They will help you navigate through a series of group workshops to assist all of your needs during application season. You can pick and choose your sessions or do a full series. \n Do you need help following up on your applications and reporting your grades? \nDo you need help following up on your applications after you have applied? These sessions are for you. You will open university portals and learn how to upload and/or self-report your grades. This is an excellent maintenance session. Session five is for reporting mid-semester grades (or first term linear grades) and session six is for reporting your end of semester grades.
