DESCRIPTION:Want to brush up on your reading and writing skills over spring break? Options Solutions wants to help! \nThis interactive\, fast-paced workshop is aimed at providing students with the theory and practice to succeed in their English studies at the grade 10 to 12 level. It will give students the skills and confidence they need to succeed\, making their future English courses easier and more enjoyable. \nFurthermore\, the active reading\, planning\, and essay writing skills are a great way to prepare for the Graduate Literacy Assessment (GLA)\, a new provincial exam for students in grades 10 and 12. \n  \nTopics will include: \n\nActive reading\nSynthesis essays\nArgumentative essays\nNarrative essays\n\nWhat do our students have to say?\n“I enjoyed that the instructors provided valuable feedback on my essays and they answered all the questions I had. I also enjoyed practicing writing specific types of essays.”

SUMMARY:Calculus 12 Boot Camp
DESCRIPTION:Calculus 12 is a required course for many science\, engineering and commerce programs across Canada. The Calculus 12 workshop provides an overview of functions\, limits\, and differential and integral calculus that allows students to approach the school year with confidence. Concepts in Calculus 12 can sometimes take a longer time to understand\, so this boot camp allows students to avoid feeling overwhelmed at the start of the school year. The instructor works to explain the origins of calculus and to simplify material\, demonstrating its relationship to real-world topics. \n  \nOptions Solutions math and science boot camps meet three main needs for our clients: \n\nPreviewing math and science topics before encountering them is essential; it allows students to feel prepared and confident about the material they encounter in school and to understand the shape of the course that lies ahead. Students who complete our boot camps report feeling prepared and able to do well in their classes\, and often refer to the boot camp course materials throughout the school year.\n\n  \n\nAttending these boot camps is fun\, and our committed instructors allow students to engage in purposeful learning. Our clients love to learn\, and even those who maybe reveling in uninterrupted video games still want mental stimulation and a connection to academic activities.\n\n  \n\nThe skills needed in math and science courses build on the material from the previous grade. “Melt” is the term used by educators to refer to the material that students forget between the end of one grade and the start of the next.
