DESCRIPTION:Time: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm daily\n  \nWant to brush up on your reading and writing skills and get prepared for your English courses in the fall? \nThis interactive\, fast-paced workshop is aimed at providing students with the theory and practice to succeed in their English studies at the grade 11 and 12 level. It will give students the skills and confidence they need to succeed\, making their future English courses easier and more enjoyable. \n\nDAY ONE: Literary terms\, poetry & analytical essays will cover the literary terms that grade 11 and 12 students are expected to know\, provide helpful strategies for poetry analysis\, and introduce students to analytical essay writing.\nDAY TWO: Active reading\, prose & synthesis essays will strengthen students’ ability to actively read works of fiction and non-fiction\, and guide them as they write five-paragraph synthesis essays.\nDAY THREE: Argumentative and narrative essays will highlight the respective merits of persuasive and narrative writing and give students the opportunity to practice crafting their own compositions.
