Why is Math Prep Important?

on

If students have the right progression of questions, are willing to put in the time to learn, and are taught with a balance between steps and theory, any student is able to learn any concept (such as math). In a group setting, students learn from and help one another in a supportive environment. When students can review the material in a relaxed setting before the stresses of school begin, they can avoid starting school feeling behind or struggling to keep up with the material.

The goal of our one-week head start math courses is to drastically reduce the stress students feel during the school year and to help students improve their chances of getting into a desired program and post-secondary school. The courses start with introductory questions which then build up to more complicated questions. Past students have told us how much they appreciate having notes and homework from a summer session to review during the school year.

While they are condensed courses due to the limited timeframe, the courses consist of 15 hours of study spread out over the week, including a review of all of the concepts taught at secondary schools in BC. Students are encouraged to go home and do homework given at the end of the class and come early or stay late the next day to review it.

We are offering the following courses:

Pre-Calculus 11 Boot Camp – August 28th to September 1st 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM daily (West Vancouver office)

Math 10 Preview Boot Camp – August 28th to September 1st 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM daily (West Vancouver office)

If you have questions about any of our sessions or would like to reserve a space, please call the office at (604) 922-8456 or e-mail info@options-wp.chhdev.com.

We help you navigate the complex post-secondary selection process in Canada, the United States, the UK and abroad.

We construct progressive action plans for the future, based on each student’s individual strengths, values, and interests.
