Why Get Supplement Writing Assistance?

on

At Options Solutions, we recognize that writing plays an important part in the application and scholarship process for Canadian, US and UK universities. Business and Engineering programs in Canada are becoming increasingly selective, and many universities, including Queen’s and UBC, require writing samples from ALL students.

Effective writing matters! The writing portion of applications are often the tipping point of admission, as institutions look beyond marks to understand who students are and how well they can communicate.

Students seek our assistance for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Conquering the challenging task of writing about themselves
  • Guidance with academic writing
  • Brainstorming and getting started in a positive direction
  • Understanding and succeeding at subjective and personal essay writing
  • Support dealing with the sheer volume of work required

Writing is a process, and often a scary one for teenagers. We believe effective writing is possible through coaching, modeling and lots of practice. We help students develop lifelong writing skills and strategies as they compose personal, appropriate, relevant and “WOW” pieces for their applications. Additionally, as a result of their working with our writing coaches and participation in our writing workshops, many students see a measurable improvement in their English 12 marks.

Writing Workshops are 3-hour sessions, scheduled weekly from October to January between our three office locations that give students the chance to brainstorm, draft, and edit their written supplements in a supportive and collaborative environment, under the guidance of experienced writing coaches. For a full schedule of the workshop dates available, visit our calendar. To register for a session, call our front desk at (604) 922-8456 or e-mail info@options-wp.chhdev.com.

We help you navigate the complex post-secondary selection process in Canada, the United States, the UK and abroad.

We construct progressive action plans for the future, based on each student’s individual strengths, values, and interests.
