Math and Science Summer Programs

This summer at Options, we’re offering a new selection of math and science programs. High school math and science courses typically build on the concepts learned each year with every new year delving deeper and deeper into these topics. Since many students have been without formal in-class instruction since March, the need to review difficult concepts before school starts back in the fall is more pressing than ever. Alternatively, if you’re looking to get ahead in your math and science courses, previewing the fundamental topics in our summer programs is the perfect solution! Read on to learn more about the math and science programs we’re offering this summer.

Math

PreCalculus 11 Boot Camp: This boot camp is a one-week course introducing the concepts of PreCalculus 11 including arithmetic and geometric series and sequences, trigonometry, functions, linear quadratic systems and inequalities, and radical expressions and equations.

PreCalculus 12 Boot Camp: This boot camp is a one-week course introducing the concepts of PreCalculus 12 including function operations and transformations, trigonometry, permutations, combinations and binomial theorem, and a review of laws of fractions and exponents, extending to the laws of roots.

Calculus 12 Boot Camp: This boot camp is a one-week course providing an overview of functions, limits, and differential and integral calculus that allows students to approach the school year with confidence.

Science

Chemistry 11 Boot Camp: This boot camp previews grade 11 chemistry with in-depth explanations of concepts including atomic theory, quantum mechanics, electron structure, bonding, stoichiometry, and organic chemistry.

Physics 11 Boot Camp: This boot camp introduces the fundamental concepts of grade 11 physics including vectors, kinematics, dynamics, momentum, energy, waves, sound, light and relativity.

Chemistry 12 Boot Camp: This boot camp previews Chemistry 12, which focuses on chemical reactions. Topics covered include reaction kinetics, chemical equilibrium, solution chemistry, acids and bases, and electrochemistry.

Physics 12 Boot Camp: This boot camp reviews some of the same material as Physics 11, but in greater depth. Topics include projectile motion, dynamics, universal gravitation, circular and rotational motion, static equilibrium, fields, electrostatics, circuitry, and magnetism.
