About
As a writing coach at Options, Kate enjoys helping students develop their writing skills so that they can effectively convey their abilities and goals. She believes that the university application process can be an enriching experience.
Recently, she assisted students applying to universities in Canada, the US, and the UK. Before this, as a freelance writer for Xello, an educational company based in Toronto, she researched and wrote about colleges throughout the US, as well as the university majors they offer. Kate has also worked for VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation and Peace Arch Community Health Foundation, preparing accountability reports and coordinating donor events. She then transitioned to working as a communications coordinator for Vancouver Autism Connection, assisting in running Social Thinking groups for children with ASD.
Kate holds a BA in Creative Writing and English Literature from Concordia University. She later received Orton Gillingham Tutor Training through Fraser Academy. With two young children of her own, she enjoys spending time outdoors biking, running, and gardening.
