Options Solutions worked throughout the fall refining our SAT and ACT prep approach, and we are proud to introduce a new resource for SAT and ACT prep: our own private label prep-books. The interactive books are created specifically to help students build test taking strategies while mastering curriculum. Our new books will be used in our weekly Monday prep sessions and are meant to be collaborative and cooperative – taking the boredom out of prep. This system was developed after twenty years of research and is used at the most elite East Coast prep schools, including Choate Rosemary Hall, Phillips Academy, Suffield Academy, The Taft School, and is even used at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa.
We will have books on hand for each Monday group prep session, as well as weekend group prep sessions (Super Saturday and Super Weekend sessions). We recommend students purchase the books so they can make the most of the interactive material, including writing directly in the books, however, we will not require students to purchase the books to attend the prep sessions. We will have copies of two SAT books – one Critical Reading/Writing book and one Math book – and one integrated ACT book available. Although it is not mandatory to purchase the books, we believe students will get the most value out of weekly prep if they have their own individual resource to use from week to week.
