Options Solutions’ President Melinda Giampietro Nominated for the YWCA Women of Distinction Awards

on

Options Solutions is proud to announce that company president and owner Melinda Giampietro has been nominated for the 2012 YWCA Women of Distinction Awards in the Education, Training and Development category. One of Canada’s most prestigious awards for women, the Women of Distinction awards celebrates women who are making a difference in their communities.

An innovator in the field of educational consulting, Melinda opened Vancouver’s first full-service educational consultancy, Options Solutions, in 2003 with the mission to: Empower the Educational Choices of Young Adults. Melinda is a dynamic leader in education, an advocate for adolescents as a valuable community resource, and a role model for other female entrepreneurs. She volunteers her time and resources to the community to promote education and post-secondary opportunities for ALL students.

In addition to being nominated for the YWCA Women of Distinction Award, Melinda is also eligible for the Connecting the Community Award – a $10,000 donation by Scotiabank to YWCA programs that support healthy choices for youth. The influence of media makes it more difficult for adolescents to “come of age” than in any previous generation. Therefore, teenagers should be coached and mentored as they navigate this under-valued and over-judged period of development. As an innovative educational consultancy, Options Solutions supports various athletic, fine art, leadership, and school organizations that empower youth to make healthy choices. Melinda’s passion continues to be the health and future of adolescents, and she would love your support in making this opportunity a reality.

If you would like to lend your support to Melinda, please go here to cast your vote. Contestants are listed alphabetically, and you can vote once per day (per computer) until May 22nd. The Options Solutions team will be cheering her on when the winners are announced during the awards dinner on May 24 at the Westin Bayshore.
